Here at the Royal School for the Blind, we’re extremely proud of our Royal Patronage. We’re also extremely proud of our School and how it’s thriving. Our latest venture “Teddy’s” Nursery, opened its doors a few weeks ago. What better way to mark our official opening than to celebrate with the Queen’s representative in Merseyside.
We were delighted to welcome Dame Lorna Muirhead DBE, Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside who kindly agreed to officially open “Teddys.” Dame Lorna, accompanied by her husband, Mr Ronald Muirhead, met our pupils and staff in the nursery before visiting other areas of the school. She unveiled a plaque, to mark the occasion and spent time with more of our pupils and staff from the senior department.
Her visit generated a great deal of excitement amongst our children and young people. Ryan enjoyed telling ‘Lion’ all about the visit and Declan asked if she was the Queen ?
A great day for our school and many thanks to Dame Lorna for helping us celebrate our official opening of “Teddy’s” Nursery, in such a special way. Thank you.
