A celebration tinged with sadness took place on Thursday as we broke up for the Easter weekend. Denise, our School Bursar, hung up her account books, shut down her PC and celebrated the beginning of her retirement.
Earlier in the week, Denise provided a fantastic spread (more photos to follow!) of cakes, sandwiches and pastries for the whole school. We came together, talked and laughed about the fun she has had whilst working at the school. She has seen many things change over the years she has been here and celebrated these in her heartfelt speech during a special assembly, expressing her confidence in our position to spring forward into the future.
Mr Byrne paid tribute to Denise’s work in overseeing many of the developments in school and presented her with gifts from all the staff. Our pupils offered cards made in class, even if Declan was reluctant to part with his cup-cake card !
Everyone wishes Denise a very happy retirement. She will be sorely missed and we hope she will visit us often. Congratulations Denise !
